PETALING JAYA:
Barely four months after a crane hook fell on a car killing its driver along Jalan Raja Chulan, a 21cm-long metal rod smashed the rear windshield of a car on the same stretch of road.

Fortunately, the driver Cheah Wei Lun escaped unscathed, according to Oriental Daily.

Unfortunately, none of the developers of the three construction sites in the vicinity are taking responsibility for the incident.

Cheah told the Chinese daily he was driving along the road when he heard a loud crashing noise on Dec 2.

“I came out of the car and found that a metal rod had gone through my rear windshield,” he recalled.

Cheah subsequently lodged reports with the police, Construction Industry Development Board and Department of Occupational Safety and Health over the incident.

He added he was in the midst of filing claims with the car insurance company.

In August, administration executive Chin Khoon Sing, 24, was killed instantly when a crane hook fell on her Perodua Kelisa from 20 storeys up in Jalan Raja Chulan.

Chin, who worked in Puchong, was driving to join her family for dinner when the incident occurred.

Last month, a man and a woman were killed after a piling machine fell on the car in which they were travelling in the Jalan Meru industrial area in Klang.
