PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Government has conveyed its sincere and heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Cuba over the death of its former president Fidel Castro.
The Foreign Ministry in a statement today said President Castro would always be remembered as a revolutionary icon not just in Cuba but throughout the world.
Castro died late Friday at the age of 90.
He had led Cuba for nearly half a century before stepping down in 2006 for health reasons. He was succeeded by his brother Raul.
