PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad should stop talking politics or attacking PAS if Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) wants to work with the Islamist party, its vice-president Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said.

In a Sinar Harian report today, Mohd Amar who is also Kelantan deputy menteri besar warned Mahathir to stop attacking PAS if he wants to work with the party.

“If PPBM really wants to cooperate with PAS to face BN in the coming general election, Mahathir needs to watch his mouth and remember that he is no longer the prime minister. He must know his boundaries,” Mohd Amar told reporters after an exco meeting yesterday.

Mohd Amar said most of the things the PPBM chairman criticised these days were things he did during his time as prime minister.

“He has no work now. That’s why he’s doing all these things and raising various matters, even though they are mostly about things that he has done before.

“For example, he used to ban demonstrations, but now he’s joining them himself.”

Mohd Amar also said Mahathir would only stop speaking once everyone starts following his wishes.

“That has always been his way, and he will do anything, including attacking PAS. He will only stop talking once everyone follows him,” Mohd Amar said.
