The unbecoming phrase was uttered by Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Tajuddin Abdul Rahman while in a heated debate with opposition MPs over Saturday’s Bersih 5 rally.
“Why is Seputeh going ‘kekekeke’. The only woman with a ‘Kok’ is in Seputeh,” Tajuddin lashed out, much to the fury of opposition MPs who demanded he retract his statement immediately as it was “sexist” in nature.
Deputy Speaker Ronald Kiandee however came to Tajuddin’s defence, explaining that the Pasir Salak MP was merely referring to the MP by her surname.
Khalid Samad (Amanah-Shah Alam), outraged by the explanation, insisted Tajuddin meant otherwise and that everyone in the House knew “exactly what he means.”
Another outburst followed, with Khalid returning fire and shouting repeatedly at Tajuddin that he was a “Menteri sial”, with the deputy minister shouting back “kurang ajar!”
