KUALA LUMPUR:
Police have denied issuing the widely-circulated notice of road closures in the city due to the Bersih rally on Nov 19.

“We have not issued anything on road closures yet,” said Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar in a report published on The Star Online.

The notice announces that many roads will be closed to motorists from 5am to 6pm on the day of the rally. The roads purportedly to be closed are Jalan Kuching, Jalan Mahameru, Jalan Tun Ismail, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Ipoh, Bulatan Pahang, Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz, Jalan Ampang, Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Pasar, Jalan Dewan Bahasa, Jalan Loke Yew, Jalan Hang Tuah, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Raja Chulan and Jalan Gereja.

Readers were also advised that the rally will take place at Dataran Merdeka and that the meeting points are at Dataran Maybank and Masjid Negara. The notice also cautions against the wearing of yellow or red clothing as it could cause confusion and unnecessary complications.
