KUCHING:
Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem said today that he is committed to seeing Malaysia remain a stable and united country without hatred and mistrust among Malaysians.

“But I have categorically stated many times that I am equally fully committed to protecting and reclaiming the state’s rights,” he told reporters after chairing a meeting of the Sarawak Barisan Nasional Supreme Council here.

He had also earlier chaired a meeting of the supreme council of his party, Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu.

On his discussions with Prime Minister Najib Razak, Adenan said positive outcomes had been accomplished on major issues, such as the requests to increase the state’s oil and gas royalty and the devolution of administrative powers.

“I will speak in greater detail on our achievements to date in the coming State Legislative Assembly sitting from Nov 21 to 30,” he said.
