Seek psychiatric help, Selangor DAP leader tells Nik Abduh

Conflicting statements from PAS leaders are making it hard for the DAP to work with the Islamist party, says Teng Chang Khim.

SHAH ALAM: Selangor DAP Vice-Chairman Teng Chang Khim has advised PAS Youth Chief Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz to see a psychiatrist over conflicting statements that the latter allegedly makes.

“I suggest Nik Abduh go see a psychiatrist that will help him stop talking nonsense. All he wants to do every day is piss people off.

“He is talking in circles and doesn’t even agree with his own leaders,” he told FMT at the Dewan Annex at the Selangor State Assembly building.

He was referring to Nik Abduh’s statement confirming that the party was negotiating to work with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) but would not reconsider cooperation with DAP and Amanah.

Previously, Nik Abduh had denied PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang’s remark that PAS was open to cooperating with other opposition parties, saying that the media had twisted Hadi’s statement.

Hadi was reported as having said the other parties, however, should respect PAS and not meddle with the party’s internal affairs.

Teng, who is also Sungai Pinang assemblyman, said it would be hard for the DAP to work with PAS if the Islamist party’s leaders kept coming up with conflicting statements.

“It’s hard to believe what they (PAS leaders) say. Every day it’s a different thing, and it’s confusing us. If this continues, it’ll be hard to work together.

“Regarding the possibility that PAS would have talks with BN regarding one-on-one fights with the opposition, I don’t know. But that could happen because like I said, every day they say something different,” he said.
