SHAH ALAM: Former Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim has been asked to attend the State Assembly sitting to answer and refute the allegation that he had made an offer of RM2.975 billion for taking over the equity of Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor (SPLASH) .

Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said this was because the state government had submitted all documents and letters that would prove that the offer had indeed been made.

“I have given detailed explanation (on the issue) during the previous sitting because he brought the matter up during the debate.

“The sitting had a clear record on this and I have also submitted the documents and letter proving that the matter occurred.

“That is why I propose for him to attend the sitting,” he told reporters after attending the opening of the Nusantara Syariah Judicial and Legal Conference here today.

Prior to this, Khalid had refuted Azmin’s allegation that the Selangor Government, under his (Khalid’s) leadership had made an offer of RM2.975 billion for the taking over of the SPLASH equity between 2008 and 2014.

Azmin had allegedly accused Khalid that, during his tenure as Selangor menteri besar, he had never informed the state assembly about the offer he made to SPLASH, in letters dated June 25, 2009 and July 19, 2009.
