PETALING JAYA:
Two employees of a water utility company in Johor were physically assaulted when they went to disconnect water supply to a house, whose owner had not paid his bills for several months.

The New Straits Times reported the two victims, contractors of SAJ Holdings Sdn Bhd, were assaulted by two men, believed to be the sons of the house owner, at Kampung Melayu in Kulai, about 11.45am yesterday.

A video, as well as photographs of the attack, has gone viral on social media.

The post, put up by Facebook user “Kapten Ben” last night, has been shared more than 21,000 times, with the video garnering over 550,000 views.

In the video, at least two men, clad only in shorts and with one brandishing a hoe, punched and kicked one utility company worker, who was astride a motorcycle.

The other worker, riding another motorcycle, recorded the attack, before he too, was confronted by the suspects.

Kulai police chief Superintendent Razak Md Said told the daily that the victims suffered soft tissue injuries to their face and hands and received outpatient treatment at a hospital.

According to a report in Harian Metro, the two suspects were arrested at two different locations in Kulai, early this morning.

The case is being probed for voluntarily causing hurt, as well as for criminal intimidation, said the report.
