
He said it was important for PAS to be in the opposition bloc even though leaders of the Islamist party have refused to join forces or work with DAP.
Mohamad, who is known as Mat Sabu, said his party has held discussions with PKR and the DAP about opposition unity and would soon work to convince PAS to be part of a unified opposition front.
He said PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin was giving a personal opinion when stating that PAS would never work with the DAP. “We will offer our hand to PAS, whether they want to take it, it is up to them,” he was quoted as saying after attending the Kedah Pakatan Harapan convention this morning.
Mohamad said Pakatan Harapan would also hold discussions with the newly-formed Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia about one-on-one contests against BN.
PKR vice president Rafizi Ramli said the opposition parties expected to complete their discussions on seat allocations by the year-end.
