
Imam Wahyudin Karjono, 21, and Jonius Ondie @ Jahali, 24, pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here today.
The court was scheduled to sentence the duo today after having adjourned the case on Sept 21.
Imam then was not produced in court for undisclosed reasons.
Sessions Court Judge Azwarnida Affandi fixed the case for mention on November 14.
On July 25, Jonius, who is from Sabah, and Imam, from Puchong, Selangor, pleaded guilty to eight charges, including for throwing and exploding a hand grenade which resulted in eight people being injured at the Movida pub and restaurant, in IOI Boulevard, at 2am on June 28.
The eight charges, made under Section 307(1) of the Penal Code, provides imprisonment for up to 30 years, if found guilty.
Imam and Jonius had also pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 8 of the Firearms Act (Heavy Penalty) 1971, for using a hand grenade and face at least six strokes of the rotan and a jail term of up to 14 years.
In a separate court, they were charged with an additional two counts of terrorism under the Penal Code. No plea had been recorded for the terrorism charges and the two will go through a trial as conviction would carry a natural life sentence.
Imam is represented by Fareida Mohd and Wong Kar Fai while Jonius by Aaron Mark Pius and Joan Sia.
The hand grenade attack at Movida was confirmed by Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar as being the Islamic State’s (IS) first ever successful attack on Malaysian soil.
