
The five people were reported to be the owners of several companies believed to have been directly involved in infrastructure construction projects with the Sabah Water Department.
MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Azam Baki confirmed this when contacted, NST Online reported.
The MACC has taken the statements of 28 people, including department officers and contractors.
Last week, the MACC announced the arrest of the Sabah Water Department’s director and his deputy and two others.
Yesterday, the MACC interviewed the director’s younger brother.
The MACC has said that a total of RM115 million in cash as well as deposits in bank accounts have been seized, RM7 million in jewellery, designer bags and luxury cars; as well as 127 land titles.
