PETALING JAYA: Water supplies will resume in stages in parts of Kuala Lumpur, Petaling and Hulu Langat which were affected by the temporary closure of water treatment plants on Friday night.
More than 420,000 households were affected.
The plants resumed operations earlier today after being closed because of “odour pollution” at an outlet for raw water from Sungai Semantan, Pahang.
Selangor executive councillor Elizabeth Wong said a Selangor surveillance team was assisting the Pahang authorities to identify the source of the contamination.
Water supply will be restored to the affected areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling and Hulu Langat in stages based on a schedule.
Relief water supply will be delivered by tankers to affected areas and critical premises, such as hospitals and dialysis centres.
