Barisan Nasional Secretary-General Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said today: “That’s the problem, when one party does something that hurts the feelings of the other party. There’s reaction and counter reaction. I hope both parties can be sensible.
“This fellow hurts this fellow’s feelings, this fellow hurts this fellow back, towards the end it might become a riot you know. So you got to be very, very careful,” he was quoted as saying.
The Bersih electoral reform group plans to hold a street rally in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 19, and Red Shirts leader Jamal Md Yunos has promised to hold a counter-rally.
Bersih also began a series of road convoys at various towns and cities to publicise the rally and to press their demands for reforms.
Jamal has also claimed that Bersih had been infiltrated by the Islamic State terrorist network. Tengku Adnan hoped the police would investigate the claim because “there are people who like to destroy people like us, where we are a successful nation because we believe in unity, in diversity”.
