
The charge against R. Subramaniam and L. Uvaneswaran, both in their 20s, was read out to them before magistrate Salina Omar.
The two men, both unemployed, were charged with murdering M. Mariayee, 56, and her daughter, C. Durga Devi, 17, at No 51, Jalan Beladau 40, Taman Puteri Wangsa, between 10am and 11am on Sept 21.
They were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 340 of the same law, which provided the death sentence upon conviction.
However, no plea was recorded. Salina then set Nov 1 for mention.
The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Nur Baiduri Mustakim, while both the accused were unrepresented.
