IPOH:
The family of a victim of the MH17 tragedy wants the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to continue its investigations to determine who were the masterminds behind the shooting of the airliner.

Norlin Mohd Noor, 49, the sister of Noor Rahimmah, who perished in the tragedy along with all the others on board, said she will never be satisfied until the perpetrators were exposed.

“I am still haunted by the thought why the aircraft was shot down.

“However, I am thankful because the interim report by the JIT today gives me a bit more information on how the tragedy took place,” she told reporters when met at her house in Tambun here today.

Noor Rahimmah was one of the 43 Malaysians on board the plane.

She had worked as a secretary at the Malaysian Embassy in Berlin and as an interpreter in Geneva, Switzerland.

The MH17 plane was shot down in the Donetsk region, eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014, killing all 298 people onboard, including 44 Malaysians.

In the meantime, Norlin, who is the victim’s youngest sibling, said she and her family wanted those responsible to be punished appropriately as the shooting down of the aircraft was very cruel.

“I also urge the people of Malaysia to be united in giving full support to the families of the victims,” she said.

The JIT, headed by the Netherlands, on Wednesday summarised that MH17 was shot down using a BUK missile that was brought to Ukraine from Russia.
