Two military men detained for alleged road bullying

The military personnel aged 20 and 22 and two other male youths were picked up in operations at major roads in Ipoh.

Two military personnel were among four people detained by the police to facilitate investigations into road bully cases.

The military personnel aged 20 and 22, and the other two male youths, aged 19 and 20, were picked up in operations at several major roads in the city between 11pm Saturday night and 6am Sunday morning.

Perak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief (TIE) Supt Wan Jamil Wan Chik said during the operations, a total of 322 vehicles and motorcycles were inspected.

He said the police impounded 13 motorcycles and issued 61 summonses for various offences such as driving without a licence or vehicle registration number, beating traffic lights, overtaking in a dangerous manner, having an expired driving licence and driving without road tax.
