Izwan Isa, 39, and his daughter Nur Zulaikha, five, were buried at the Jalan Bukit Ubi Muslim cemetery at 11.10pm, in the presence of nearly 200 family members and acquaintances.
Earlier at 10pm, funeral prayers were conducted at Masjid Tengku Ampuan Afzan in Indera Mahkota after the completion of the autopsies.
Pahang Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob was among the 600 people who joined in the funeral prayers.
Izwan, a supervisor at a factory in Gebeng, here, and Nur Zulaikha were killed after a go-kart skidded and rammed into them while they were watching the race at the side of the track behind jersey barriers (plastic barriers).
Izwan’s wife Siti Suhaiza Seman, 38, and son Muhammad Izz Danial, seven, were injured and treated at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital and as of yesterday evening, only Siti Suhaiza, a teacher at SK Indera Mahkota, was allowed to return home.
However, she was not present during the burial.
The accident was believed to have occurred after three go-karts grazed into each other, causing one of them to skid and crash into the victims.
Pahang Public Order and Traffic Department chief Supt Mohd Noor Yusof Ali confirmed that the race organised by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur, was conducted with a valid permit.
All three go-kart drivers, however, did not suffer injuries and their blood and urine samples were taken to the Chemistry Department for toxicology tests.
