PETALING JAYA:
Negeri Sembilan police are liaising with the Immigration Department to find out more on the Syrian family suspected to have a grenade in their possession.

Port Dickson District Police Chief Supt Adzli Abu Shah said they were also looking for a black Proton Saga in which the seven-member family was travelling in.

A hotel employee had alerted police after he saw a grenade-like object, kept under a pillow, in one of the connecting rooms the family had stayed for the night on Wednesday.

Star Online reported today that the family was in the process of checking out of the four-star hotel at the time.

It said a man came back to the room, took the “grenade” and rushed off.

Police are looking for clues from the hotel’s closed circuit television (CCTV) camera recording.

Adzli said the police were also trying to establish if the family had any links to the Daesh (Islamic State) group.
