KOTA BHARU:
An engineer with a government-linked company, who was detained for investigation into corruption and power abuse, was released today on a RM200,000 bail.

The release order was issued by the magistrate’s court registrar Amni Mat Jahari.

The 30-year-old engineer was detained together with two technicians from the same company on Aug 20 when they went to the Kelantan Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office to give their statement following the arrest of a senior officer in the company on Aug 15.

However, the senior officer and the two technicians were released on bail last week.

The senior officer was among three people, including a “Datuk Seri” and a “Datuk”, arrested by the MACC on Aug 15 in Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Kelantan for corruption, abuse of power and money laundering.
