FT Umno Youth on how DAP disrespects Malays

Its chief, Razlan Rafii, says Malays who joined DAP must study and understand the party’s ideology thoroughly.

PETALING JAYA: Federal Territories Umno Youth Chief Razlan Rafii has listed out “evidence” of DAP’s disrespect for Malays.

This follows yesterday’s statement by 14 Malay members on why they chose to join DAP.

“The Malays under Umno are reared like meat and fattened with bribes before being slaughtered by problems such as the GST, 1MDB, and other economic problems,” they had said in the statement.

According to a Malaysiakini report, Razlan said among the actions that showed the DAP disrespected the sensitivities of Malays were:

  • DAP MPs attended Oktoberfest (beer drinking) although it was not part of Malaysian culture;
  • Opposing amendments to Act 355, providing more powers to shariah courts, which could pave the way for hudud.
  • Taiping DAP MP Nga Kor Ming’s alleged online Hari Raya Aidilfitri greeting on Facebook, which had the US flag in the background and the words “In God We Trust” alleged to be a “Christian prayer” and the words “Lord, guide our nation back to you”;
  • Former DAP grassroots leader Hew Kuan Yau’s call to supporters to “screw Malays” during the Sarawak elections; and,
  • Slaughter of five pigs in Penang to celebrate DAP’s victory with Pakatan Rakyat after the 13th General Election.

Razlan also alleged that DAP was forced to recruit Malays, like Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud as its candidate for Teluk Intan, after realising that only a Malay could become a menteri besar.

“Are all these untrue and mere slander? The 14 Malay DAP lackeys, please reply and elaborate,” he was reported as saying.

“We can see that there is hardly any representative from other races in the local government in Selangor, with spots taken by DAP representatives who are not on the ground.

“In Penang, there is almost no other race.”

Razlan said DAP fields only a handful of non-Chinese candidates in elections.

“So to these new DAP members, please read up and understand DAP’s ideology.”
