
The incentive was presented by Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman at Sri Gaya, the official residence of the Sabah chief minister.
Earlier, Wee Kiong made a courtesy call on Musa, accompanied by Sabah Youth and Sports Minister Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan.
At the event, Musa congratulated Wee Kiong and hoped that more youths in Sabah would emulate the badminton player’s commitment to achieve success.
Wee Kiong presented the jersey and cap he wore while in Rio to Musa and also posed for a photograph with the silver medal won at the Olympic Games.
Meanwhile, Johor-born Wee Kiong, who moved to Tawau when he was 12, said he would be back in training to prepare for the Japan Open in mid-September.
