KEMAMAN:
Police have arrested a pair of identical twins, who dressed as women, complete with robe and veil, to rob jewellery shops in Dungun last week.

The activities of the two 26 year-old men, known as “Amir Gang”, ended after the car they were travelling in was involved in an accident in Teluk Kalong, Kemaman, on Friday.

Terengganu police CID chief ACP Wan Abd Aziz Wan Hamzah said the suspects, who were from Cheras, were believed to have targeted jewellery shops.

He said on Aug 20 and 25, the two suspects attempted to rob two jewellery shops in Dungun, but failed.

“The suspects wore women’s clothes with robes and veil, before revealing a fake pistol and threatening the victims, but escaped in a white Perodua Viva car,” he told reporters here today.

Based on information from the public, police tracked down the car about 4pm in Bukit Kuang and in the ensuing car chase, the suspects’ vehicle overturned at a traffic junction in Kampung Teluk Kalong.
