PAPAR:
The police believe they have solved the case involving the dumping of the body of a newborn baby boy at a dumpsite here following the arrest of a 26-year-old woman.

District Police Chief DSP George Abd Rakman said the sales assistant was picked up at 9.10pm yesterday at an undisclosed location.

“Investigations found that the suspect, who is a single mother, had given birth to a baby boy in a supermarket toilet near the scene,” he said in a statement here today.

George said the suspect claimed the baby had died at birth.

She then wrapped the body in plastic and put it in a box.

She then placed the box at the dumpsite and covered it with garbage, he said.

The body of the newborn baby, with the umbilical cord still attached, was found partially burnt by the supermarket worker about 10 am yesterday.
