KUALA LUMPUR: A mechanic, who allegedly abducted and murdered five year old Noor Amila Edrus Norsham last week, was brought to court on Wednesday to be charged.

Norhamid Nor Muhamad nodded when the charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code was read to him before Magistrate Zuhair Rosli.

He was charged with killing Noor Amila at a workshop in Jinjang Utara, Sentul, in the early hours on August 12.

No plea was taken.

The court fixed October 25 as the next mention date pending a forensic report.

Norhamid was not represented.

ASP Muhamad Sapri Yaakub appeared for the prosecution.

Police found the body of Noor Amila last Thursday near the Kampung Kemensah river in Hulu Kelang.

It’s believed that he was abducted on August 11 at a mosque near his house in Jinjang, Sentul.

The suspect, believed to have kidnapped Noor Amila, brought police to the location where the authorities found his body. It was in a ravine near the river.

Earlier reports said Noor Amila was decapitated. The police have since dismissed the report.
