Najib congratulates badminton men’s doubles team entering Olympics final

Malaysian doubles pair Goh V. Shem and Tan Wee Kiong made the final in the men's doubles after defeating Chinese pair Chai Biao and Hong Wei last night.

KUALA LUMPUR:
Prime Minister Najib Razak last night congratulated the Malaysian badminton men’s doubles team for advancing to the final of the event in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

“Our doubles Tan Wee Kiong & Goh V. Shem advance to the final! Congratulations! #RioOlympics2016 #KitaTeamMalaysia,” he said in a post on his Twitter account @NajibRazak.

Malaysian doubles pair Goh V. Shem and Tan Wee Kiong made the final in the men’s doubles after defeating Chinese pair Chai Biao and Hong Wei.

The duo won 21-18, 12-21, 21-17, thus assuring Malaysia of another silver medal in badminton.

Badminton mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon & Goh Liu Ying have also advanced to the final in their event.
