He said the blogger Yusman Zahari had apologised to him through his blog entry on July 31, and retracted all accusations written in an article entitled “Perlis Umno leaders involved in channelling funds to support Mahathir’s movement to oust Najib’.

“He has tendered his apology and retracted all the accusations made…but I still have the right to sue him as the slander has damaged my reputation,” he told reporters after attending the second day of the State Legislative Assembly sitting here today.

Azlan said he had the right to take legal action against the blogger for maliciously making slanderous statements in his blog and trying to create enmity between him and the prime minister.

He said the slander inflicted by the blogger was a serious matter as it did not only involve the people in Perlis but also throughout the country.

“How could he claim that I do not support the prime minister when I am the key leader in Perlis who has unequivocally expressed support for the leadership of Najib Razak,” he said.
