Magistrate Nur ‘Aminatul Mardhiah Mohd Noor fined parking attendant P. Ravintheran, 38, who pleaded guilty to the charge.

He was charged with offering the service for RM400 to Thirunaman John Brownsom, 40, at an entertainment outlet in Jalan Changkat Bukit Bintang, Dang Wangi here, at 11.30pm on July 27.

The charge, under Section 372B of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for a year or fine, or both, upon conviction.

Ravintheran, who was unrepresented, was also fined RM300, in default 15 days’ jail, for failing to produce his identity card or other personal documents when requested by the police during an inspection.

The offence was committed in front of KK Mart, Jalan Dang Wangi here, at 9am on July 28.

In mitigation, Ravintheran said he was getting married next year and had to take care of his ailing parents.
