State Gerakan chairman Teng Chang Yeow said the party had previously made preparations to face the general election, but with the latest political development, all parties need to be ready to face any possibility.
“We thought we have 18 months before the 14th general election, but now we may only have 18 hours before a state election. So, this emergency meeting was called to ensure that all members are ready to face any possibility,” he told reporters before chairing the meeting here today.
He said Gerakan president Mah Siew Keong had identified the potential candidates for the election and the party would contest 13 state assembly seats.
