He said the state government had a strategic development plan on the development patterns of areas where the train would pass, especially in Muar and Batu Pahat.
The Federal Government signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore this week and the project is expected to be completed by 2026.
“The Johor government looks forward to this project,” Khaled told reporters. “It has made it possible for us to realise the vision of the strategic development plan.”
The high-speed railway will link Bandar Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Seremban, Ayer Keroh, Muar, Batu Pahat, Iskandar Puteri and Singapore over a distrance of 350km
Travel time between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore will be reduced to 90 minutes, with the bullet train running at a maximum speed of over 300km/h on certain portions.
