KUALA LUMPUR:
A woman was traumatised when she was robbed by a taxi driver while on her way to work at a supermarket in SS16, Subang Jaya, near here this morning.

Subang Jaya District Police Chief ACP Mohammad Azlin Sadari said the 28-year-old victim had flagged down a red-and-white Proton Wira taxi at 8.45am before the assault and robbery.

“When we arrived behind Subang Parade, the suspect suddenly stopped the taxi and brandished a knife at the victim’s right ear,” he said in a statement here today.

Mohammad Azlin said the suspect, in his 40s, ordered the victim to keep quiet before pulling out a gun to threaten her.

He said the taxi driver then took RM1,500 in cash, a mobile phone and house keys from the victim’s handbag before dropping her off in front of the Jalan SS15 post office.

He said the victim, who sustained injuries on the right side of her face, later sought treatment at a nearby clinic.

Mohammad Azlin said the case was being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for causing hurt during a robbery.
