Fire and Rescue personnel broke the rear right glass window of the locked Perodua Alza car about 10.30am to awaken the man, in his 50s, who they thought was asleep, said Gopeng Fire and Rescue Station Senior Fire Officer II Nor Zamri A Wahab.
He said medical authorities confirmed that the man had died in the car that had its engine running for about 30 minutes after the man had apparently refuelled at the petrol station.
The body was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.
“The petrol station workers found the engine of the car running and tried to get the man’s attention but there was no response,” he told Bernama.
