PETALING JAYA:
After claiming responsibility for yesterday’s grenade attack in Puchong, a self-proclaimed Malaysian Islamic State (IS) member has warned of more and urged Muslims to stay away from establishments where vice activities took place.

In a Facebook post, Muhamad Wanndy Mohamad Jedi said yesterday’s attack was a warning and reminder to the government, specifically the police.

Yesterday’s grenade attack took place at Movida Bar at IOI Boulevard while patrons were watching a Euro 2016 football match.

Four men and three local women, as well as a female Chinese national, were injured in the incident.

Wanndy also directed the warning to Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar and Special Branch Counter-Terrorism Division chief Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, who he claimed were oppressing Muslims.

“God-willing, other attacks will follow. This is not the beginning nor the end.”

On February 22, Wanndy appeared in a video uploaded by Abu Hamzah Al-Fateh, where a Syrian citizen, accused of being a spy of President Bashar al Assad’s regime, was murdered at a detention camp in Raqqa, Syria.

Last month, some 14 individuals believed to be linked to Wanndy were arrested. Wanndy is said to be actively recruiting new IS members in Malaysia and has threatened to assassinate Prime Minister Najib Razak and top police officers.

Last week, Khalid challenged Malaysian IS fighters in Syria to come over after a video surfaced, showing one of them, Mohd Rafi Udin, threatening to carry out attacks against Malaysians, including slitting the throats of police officers.
