PETALING JAYA: An ustaz and another school teacher in Terengganu have been arrested after a 11-year-old pupil was reportedly hit with a hockey stick.
NST Online, quoting Besut police, said the boy was reportedly slapped and throttled last Sunday. He suffered head injuries and bruises on his face and body.
Besut OCPD Mohd Zamri Mohd Rowi said initial investigation had shown that the teachers had called the boy to another class and assaulted him.
The boy was sent to Besut hospital for treatment after his mother, also a teacher, was informed about the incident, Mohd Zamri was quoted as saying.
A police report was lodged later that day.
The two teachers were released on police bail after their statements were recorded, Mohd Zamri said.
