Johor police chief Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said the man was detained about 5.24pm at the Kota Tinggi police station.
He said that the unemployed man was detained after giving his statement at the police station.
“The suspect is now being held under remand until this Saturday to aid in follow up investigations,” he said in a statement today.
In this regard, Wan Ahmad Najmuddin urged parents to always monitor the whereabouts of their children, especially the young ones.
He also reminded parents to be careful with their own family members or caregivers so that their children would not fall prey to sexual perpetrators.
He urged parents to establish close ties with their children so that they would not be shy or afraid to talk about their problems.
