MUAR: Police have seized seven shotguns belonging to seven farmers to facilitate investigations into a case where a stray dog was shot dead in Taman Junid Perdana here last Friday.
Muar Police Chief ACP Azman Ayob said the seizure followed public anger and complaints over the incident which went viral.
“Based on investigations, we found that the stray dog was killed with shotguns as the police found several cartridges near the dog’s carcass,” he told reporters here today.
He said the shotguns would undergo ballistic tests, adding the police were seeking witnesses to shed light on the case.
Azman said initial investigations revealed the seven farmers had valid firearm permits.
