
He said several police reports were lodged over the leaked slides which were part of academic content used for the Islamic and Asian Civilisation Studies (Titas) in public universities.
“The investigation is underway. We have called several people and will call more to have their statements recorded.
“Let us conduct the investigation,” Khalid told a press conference at the Bukit Aman police headquarters here today.
Recently, two PowerPoint slides saying Hindus preferred to be dirty to attain Nirvana and questions on Islam’s influence on Sikhism went viral.
The particular leaked slides came from UTM and in a public apology issued afterwards, its vice-chancellor Prof Wahid Omar said the university would fix the “mistake”.
On a separate note, Khalid said 60 individuals were arrested under “Ops Soga” which targeted gambling activities connected to the Euro 2016.
“The operation was launched on June 1, and as of yesterday, 60 people have been arrested.”
Amongst them was an organised group with an overseas network.
