Salleh said he had instructed the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to work with Telegram to block the pornography websites.
“At the same time, the MCMC will work with other enforcement agencies to identify those who had uploaded or shared pornographic content and take appropriate action against them,” he said in a statement here.
Salleh was commenting on the issue of the spread of pornographic content, such as child pornography, on Telegram, which was exposed by a local news portal yesterday.
He urged the public with any information on the matter to lodge a complaint at the MCMC Complaint Centre through the hotline 1-800-188-030, e-mail to [email protected] or send a WhatsApp message to +6016 220 6262.
