Its executive chairman, Tengku Hasmadi Tengku Hashim, said the application also seeks to improve the comfort, convenience and safety of passengers.
“Passengers can make easier taxi booking via online and now have various options and not focused on only one taxi application.
“The app is empowered with the latest facilities for customers.
“It is easily accessible, offering cashless payment, low fares and insurance coverage,” he told reporters after the memorandum signing ceremony between CAB and the Klang Valley Taxi Drivers Association here today.
He said initially CAB would provide the opportunity for about 5,000 taxi owners to use the application and their taxis will be maintained to enable them to provide the best service.
“CAB is cooperating with 15 taxi associations in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor to restore the image of taxi drivers and limousines, especially those taking passengers in Klang Valley, and competing with illegal taxi services.
“CAB will also provide subsidies for taxi drivers for vehicle maintenance in panel workshops at a cheaper price,” he said.
He said the app had also met the standards set by the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) and the Transport Ministry.
