PETALING JAYA:
The runaway ostrich seen sprinting along the Federal Highway earlier this afternoon has been caught and brought back to a farm in Semenyih.

According to a report by Malaysiakini, the ostrich was retrieved by two rescuers, Agus and Shunmugavael, at 4.15pm.

An eyewitness, Dr Rathimalar, said the ostrich jumped out of a lorry that was transporting it as it passed by Universiti Malaya around 3pm today.

“We tried to block it with our car because we didn’t want it to get hit and the owner made a couple of rounds to look for it.

“We called the Civil Defence Department but they did not come in time,” she said.

The owner of the ostrich did not identify himself.

Earlier, a video showing the ostrich running on the right lane of the Federal Highway made the rounds on social media.

Whoa… was that an ostrich sprinting down the highway?
