The current sitting of the first session of the 18th assembly has been a baptism of fire for first timers like him.
Telling reporters of his experience after attending four days of the session here today, he said he was flabbergasted by the attitude of certain assemblymen from the opposition bench.
“They are like naughty children…always trying to attract attention. Sometimes the words they use are interesting…purposely to provoke arguments,” he said.
Dr Sim said opposition supporters should see for themselves how these politicians conducted themselves in the house.
Sim, a heart specialist turned politician, is head of the Sarawak United People’s Party and was appointed state minister of local government after being elected in Batu Kawah in the state elections in May.
He was a senator for two years. In the Dewan Negara, “the situation is different. People are more honourable…conducting the sitting decorously. It could be because the opposition are a minority there,” he said.
