GEORGE TOWN:
A proposed public debate about the state government’s proposed cross-Channel mega-project could not proceed today when a state executive council member did not turn up.

The debate had been proosed by Penang Gerakan Youth acting chief Jason Loo, who had challenged the state executive councillor for works and public amenities, Lim Hock Seng, to answer questions on the controversial tunnel project.

Loo said he was disappointed that his invitation to the state executive councillor for a public debate on the topic, ‘Undersea Tunnel: A Democratic Scandal’ at the Loh Association premises in Jalan Logan had not been taken up.

“I am very disappointed that Lim Hock Seng failed to turn up as this is the debate that gives him the chance to clarify the confusion among Penangites on this mega project.
