City CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa said two dentists who attended to Syed Alman Zain were among the individuals who gave their statements.
“Besides the two dentists, police have also recorded statements from Health Ministry officials and staff of the clinic. So far, no individuals have been detained,” he told Bernama.
He said police would be submitting the investigation papers to the Attorney-General’s Chambers by this week for further action.
Syed Alman Zain, 44, was the husband of Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s eldest daughter, Nurulhidayah, 37.
He had gone to the clinic with a friend for a dental appointment at 6pm last Wednesday, but passed out while undergoing treatment.
He was rushed to the University Malaya Medical Centre nearby but was confirmed to have died.
On Friday, City Police Chief Amar Singh Ishar Singh was reported as saying that police would be calling up several individuals to assist in investigations into the case.
He said the case had been classified under Section 304 of the Penal Code (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
