Abdul Rani says he’s the People’s Candidate

Not a local boy like BN's Budiman, but already known as Meru assemblyman and former PAS commissioner.

SUNGAI BESAR:
Dr Abdul Rani Osman of PAS, one of three candidates in the parliamentary by-election here, fancies himself as ‘The People’s Candidate’.

That is his slogan for the campaign which began today for the by-election on June 18.

Dr Abdul Rani may not be a ‘local boy’ like his Barisan Nasional rival, but as the Selangor state assemblyman for Meru, he is well-known enough, as well as for being a former Selangor PAS commissioner.

Dr Abdul Rani, 58, born and bred in Selangor, has four children and as many grandchildren.

His rival, Budiman Mohd Zohdi, is also a Selangor assemblyman, for the nearby area of Sungai Panjang. The other candidate is Azhar Abdul Shukur of Amanah.
