The MCA spokesman added that the DAP supremo had no choice but to parrot such nonsensical rhetoric in a bid to divert its attention from the fact that MCA had boldly taken a strong stand against hudud.
Many MCA members and non-members, Ti also said, were now beginning to see DAP’s true colours, especially after the party failed to practise what it preached on several occasions.
“You can lie to some of the people some of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot lie to all of the people all of the time,” he told FMT.
Earlier today, Lim alleged that MCA had lost the trust of its own members , which saw the Chinese-based Barisan Nasional component party being reduced to a “puny 7/11 party” from being the the second biggest component in the ruling coalition.
“7/11” is in reference to the seven parliament seats and 11 state seats won by MCA in the last general election.
Ti however claimed that Lim, who is the Gelang Patah lawmaker, was worried that MCA and other BN component parties were working together and making a definite stand on the proposed amendments to the Shariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965, which is set to pave the way for hudud to be implemented in Kelantan.
He also pointed out that when the issue of hudud cropped up the last time, DAP took a very nonchalant stance, with DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng merely stating “let it pass.”
Anthony Loke, Ti noted, even went on to remark that if one did not steal or rob, there was no reason to fear hudud.
“Kit Siang knows that the rakyat will slowly and surely wake up to DAP’s political games and charades.
“He is afraid that DAP games and lies will soon come back to haunt them.”
