ALOR GAJAH:
Malacca police arrested a man who impersonated a staff of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and who was in possession of various imitation firearms at Km210 of the North-South Expressway (north-bound) early today.

Alor Gajah district police chief Supt A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the 41-year-old man was arrested about 3.45am after being spotted driving a white coloured van in a suspicious manner.

The suspect, who works as a coin collector in a water filter company, was heading towards Kuala Lumpur from Johor and was wearing an RMN uniform.

“Two pistols, two rifles, 77 bullets, all imitations, were found in the van.”

The man had a previous criminal record in 2012, and had been sentenced to jail for six months.

“The firearms were purchased via online from Hong Kong,” he said.
