Ahmad Zahid’s son-in-law dies at 44

He is believed to have died while undergoing dental surgery.

PETALING JAYA:
Syed Alman Syed Alwi, son-in-law of Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, was reported to have died today after undergoing dental surgery.

NST Online said he was aged 44.

It reported that Syed Alman was believed to have undergone dental surgery in Bangsar today and lost consciousness. He died later at the University Malaya Medical Centre.

A Home Ministry official, when contacted, confirmed the matter to the newspaper.

NST Online said it was understood that Zahid was on his way back from Tokyo, where he was on a working visit to attend the 34th Japan-Malaysia Economic Association (Jameca) and Malaysia-Japan Economic Association (Majeca) Joint Conference.

Syed Alman is married to Zahid’s eldest daughter, Nurul Hidayah.

He was the founder of ICT company, iGen Technology Sdn Bhd.

He was also Gerakan Belia 4B (M) Shah Alam Welfare and Education Fund chairman, NST reported.

On her Instagram account, Nurul Hidayah shared a photo of her and Syed Alman, with the following message: “Al Fatihah. Syed Alman Zain bin Syed Alwi. Great Papa. Responsible husband. I lost someone that I can argue with. Bye Sayang.”
