He said all resolutions and motions approved by the Central Working Committee (CWC) in the EGM today are legal and does not violate nor are in conflict with party rules.
“We held this meeting in accordance with party rules, and I am very clear on the matter,” he said at a press conference in One City today.
“Those who say this EGM is illegal are not telling the truth. Their actions are very disappointing.”
He was responding to the protest by a group of people believed to be supporters of former MIC president G Palanivel, who created a ruckus outside the EGM venue this morning and alleged that the meeting was illegal and called for it to be halted.
Speaking to reporters afterwards, former MIC treasurer-general R Ramanan claimed he received a letter of invitation to attend the EGM this morning but was later banned from the meeting.
About 100 of Palanivel’s supporters created chaos demanding Subramaniam go out of the hall where the EGM was held. However, riot police managed to control the situation.
