According to a report by China Press, the incident occurred when the victim, who teaches Japanese, was making her way to her car at an open car park in Danau Kota, Setapak, around 1am on Saturday.
The 28-year-old was approached by two men who demanded she hand over her belongings to them.
However, they became enraged when they found out she only had RM10 with her and they hit her, before one of them attempted to rape her.
Fortunately for the teacher, her screams for help attracted the attention of two men, who rushed to her rescue. The robbers fled the scene immediately.
The victim, however needed, 12 stitches to her forehead following the assault.
Wangsa Maju police chief Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif confirmed that a report had been lodged and that police were looking for the duo.
