2 Form Two students drown at Pantai Geliga,T’ganu

They were among three students who were hit by a huge wave while swimming at sea.

Two of three Form Two students, aged 14, drowned after being overwhelmed by a giant wave while they were bathing in the sea off Pantai Geliga yesterday.

Terengganu Fire and Rescue, Zone 2 Officer Azmi Ab Rahim said Amier Syafiq Azahari’s body was discovered by villagers at 5.50pm the same day on the shore about 25 metres from where the teens had been swimming.

He said Mohd Arif Azaharudin’s body was discovered by a rescue team at 6.40am today.

“The body was on the shore 20 metres from where the first was located,” he told Bernama.

The three students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Geliga were believed to be enjoying a dip in the sea when a huge wave swept over them around 4.30pm.

The third student, Alif Mursidi Awang, managed to save himself.
